On the campus of South El Monte High School, five gunmen showed up in the scenario and opened fire on students. L.A. County Sheriff’s Sgt. Bob Boese.
“The deputies, who are responding, had to create contact teams, respond to the various locations where these active shooters were, try to apprehend them or stop the threat by all means possible in order to preserve life on campus.”
With the San Bernardino school shooting still fresh in the minds of many, the exercise hit close to home for sophomore Ariana Kasden. She’s volunteering as a victim.
“I think it really is a learning experience. It’s really important to know what could possibly happen when things like this happen.”
The drill was planned months before last week’s shooting in San Bernardino.
