The group “Heal the Bay” has put out a warning about the LA river.
The nonprofit organization has been checking the water quality at beaches for years…and has now turned its attention to the river. It says fecal bacteria levels are quite high at two popular recreation spots….the Sepulveda Basin and Elysian Valley , That’s where Heal the Bay’s Nick Colin says:
COLIN:
“We’re seeing a few kayaking outfits that are taking people on tours down the river”.
Heal the Bay is urging the Army Corps of Engineers to include water quality improvements in the government agency’s one-point-three BILLION dollar river restoration plan.
