Drive by shootings in Arleta and North Hills put LAPD’s Valley Bureau on a tactical alert last night.

One person was killed at Van Nuys and Plummer, two more injured minutes later at Nordhoff and Orion. The tactical alert was issued after the second drive by:

“A tactical alert is when the commander of the department calls for all resources and basically keeps everybody working. So if you’re scheduled to go home you stay at work until the incident’s been stabilized.”

Valley Bureau officers hit the streets while the investigations began. Officers searched the area but came up empty handed. The tactical alert was called off around 10 in the evening. The suspects remain on the loose. Tom Perumean, KABC NEWS.
