The Department of Water and Power is adding more renewable energy to its power supply for Los Angeles. The bump in supply comes from a newly expanded geothermal plant in Northern Nevada. Brian Koch with DWP explains the plant is a part of LA’s baseload supply of energy. With the additional energy coming from the plant, DWP is getting 25-percent of its power from renewable sources. It’s target is 33-percent by 2020.
