Hollywood Mourning the Loss of Martin Milner

Hollywood is mourning the death an actor who starred in one of TV’s all-time classic cop shows.  Martin Milner, who  played Officer Pete Malloy on “Adam 12,” is dead at the age of 83.

Milner starred on “Route 66” in the early 1960s before producer Jack Webb tapped him to star alongside Kent McCord in a new weekly show about the daily adventures of two LAPD beat cops.

Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck is among those paying tribute to Milner.  Beck said in a statement released by the LAPD’s Media Relations department, “His depiction of a professional and tough yet compassionate cop led to thousands of men and women applying to become LAPD officers, including me.  Godspeed Martin, you will live forever in our hearts.”

The LAPD posted on Instagram, “Pete Malloy you are End Of Watch,” read a post on LAPD’s Instagram account.

We also learned today that actress Judy Carne, best known for being the “Sock it to me!” girl on “Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In” in the 1960s, died last week in London.  She was 76.
