Pasadena leaders vote for an alternative to building a tunnel connecting two freeways under their city. Not one person speaking before the Pasadena City Council last night favored the proposed tunnel linking the 710 and 210 Freeways. Dr. Marina Khubesrian used levity as she described the tunnel as obsolete. In the end, Pasadena leaders voted to oppose the tunnel and endorsed an alternative plan made up of light rail, bus rapid transit, and street improvements to speed up commutes.
