A bold spirit with a lust for life and amazing energy, Curtis Sliwa recognized early on the advantages of growing up in a close knit community as he was born and raised in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn, New York. Known all over the world as the founder and leader of the Guardian Angels, a non-profit, all volunteer crime fighting organization with 102 chapters throughout the United States and 12 countries overseas, Sliwa's scope is vast and intensive.
Amongst countless public service programs with which he is involved, Sliwa spearheads food and clothing distribution for the needy and anti-drug speaker’s bureaus. In 1994, Curtis Sliwa founded Cyberangels, the largest online safety and educational program in cyberspace. Sliwa has also authored several books on self-defense and safety, making his vision of community service and fighting crime a reality.
His worldwide connections keep Sliwa in touch with major breaking news stories across the globe and a few steps ahead of most journalists. Featured frequently as a guest lecturer at colleges and universities and making regular appearances on TV news-oriented programs, Sliwa's message is one of hope, combined with a healthy dose of common sense.
Sliwa, who brings a great perspective on Southern California issues and concerns, can be heard regularly guest-hosting most Fridays on The Bill O’Reilly Show as well as other 790 KABC programs.
