In a cell phone video, the suspect can be seen punching the deputy before she opens fire. The suspect then grabs her gun and shoots in her direction. Seconds later, back-up arrives and shoots the suspect.

The suspect, 21-year-old Ari Young, was shot by responding deputies but is expected to survive. The deputy, Meagan Forsberg, only suffered minor injuries says San Bernardino County Sheriff’s department spokeswoman Jodi Miller.

”It was a violent attack. The suspect struck her multiple times in the head and the face, knocking her down to the ground.”

Wednesday’’s shooting in Victorville happened after Young’s mother asked for help to remove him from the house.
