President Trump’s Summit with Vladimir Putin Gets Better Response From Russians

President Trump continues to receive praise and a lot of criticism from his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the summit in Helsinki this week. He says some people hate the fact that he got along with Putin and would rather see us go to war.

Los Angeles Times Russia reporter Sabra Ayres, who’s in Finland this week, says the reaction in Russia is quite different and that  just meeting with President Trump is seen as a victory by the Russian people.

“I think they see this as their president went to Helsinki, he met with the leader of the free world and that means he’s on the same playing field as Trump and so therefore, it’s a win.”

She goes on to say they also think fairly highly of President Trump.

“When you talk to some average Russians about him, the first thing they’ll say is that he’s a good businessman so he must be a good president. So how they see him, that’s a good thing to them.”

Ayres was a guest on McIntryre in the Morning.
